Surrendering to God
SCRIPTURE
Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.
- Proverbs 3:5-6
DEVOTIONAL
Have you ever noticed how a child trusts their parents implicitly? They hold their hand, knowing they'll be safe. This is the essence of surrendering to God as His child. We, like children, can rely on His unfailing love and guidance, even when the path seems uncertain.
Surrender doesn't mean giving up. It's about acknowledging God's authority in our lives and trusting His plan, even when it differs from our own.
As children of God, surrendering to Him is both a privilege and a necessity in our faith journey. It requires us to release our grip on control and fully trust in His sovereign will. Just as a child trusts their loving parents, we can rest assured that God's plans for us are filled with hope and purpose.
Surrendering to God means acknowledging His wisdom above our own and yielding to His direction in every aspect of our lives. It is a daily choice to relinquish our desires and align our hearts with His divine will. As we surrender to God as His children, we experience His peace that surpasses all understanding and His provision that knows no bounds.
PRAYER
Heavenly Father, I come before You as Your beloved child, ready to surrender my life to Your will. Help me to trust You with all my heart and lean not on my own understanding. Guide me in surrendering every area of my life to You, knowing that Your plans for me are good and perfect. May Holy Spirit empower me to walk in obedience and surrender each day. In Jesus' name, Amen.
AFFIRMATION
